Last night after getting home from work I checked the site before heading to my second job. I saw ~20 reports all about the same thread reporting doxing. This was in the Joshua Moon kiwi farms thread. I hid the thread until I had time to review it. I spent a couple hours skimming the pages and removing posts with this information. I've gotten rid of most of the sensitive information and moved the thread from "The Gossipers" to it's own node "The Kiwi Farm Village"
I will make this absolutely clear. A lot of "doxing" information on youtube is bullsh*t and isn't even illegal. Posting someone's name, image, handles. Those kinds of things I'm not a fan of but they sit in a legal gray area. Thats why I say post it off site or post a link if u want, I can't and won't curate every link and I won't ask mods to do that extra legwork. If it's on their site it's their problem and not mine. Addresses, places of business, DoB, family tho IS ILLEGAL. I DO NOT ALLOW THIS. It doesn't matter if the info is old or new its illegal.
I'm having a meeting with my peeps over this and some past occurrences eventually so we can come to some kind of solid bedrock policy on this type of thing. A few things may change in the coming weeks. Simply put the vague yet I felt fairly simple and easy to understand rules apparently aren't and apparently my opening statement that I have no interest in blocking or banning people has made it seem like I won't enforce the rules in a serious manner other than "verbal" or textual tongue lashings. Apparently this must be changed.
Everyone who knows me knows I am mega relaxed. I would never ban someone unless they're absolutely forcing my hand. I just hope if and when this policy change is ironed out and everything is posted and clear that no one feels the autistic spergary rise that forces that. I encourage a zone where everyone can post whatever they want and have fun with only a very narrow constraint.
Just hang around for updates. I will say for 250+ people you all haven't caused me massive issues and at most its been at most petty flamewars and whatever but this last one was a AHOD situation. Anyway I'll update here, the desk, and the rules asap.
