Job and contests:
I am working on getting a new job. I have an interview soon. If I get it I can quit my camera babysitter job and I'll have some extra cashola. If it works then I think I'll start contests for active members at the end of every month. Nothing insane. Thinking like $100 prizes for whatever. Maybe art or music or something fun. Can't win if ur not active thoooo. For now tentatively I'm reserving a contest for October. If by the 15th I know I have my new job I'll figure out what it will be. Suggest ideas!!!!!
Milestones:
After discussions with a few people I will not be making milestone rewards. These would encourage abuse such as making sock accounts to get a certain member threshold and spamming to get post counts. It would ultimately cause more issues.
Board clean-up:
Have a lot of largely untouched nodes/boards that need to be trimmed. I may even elevate general topic boards above lolcows. Not sure. LMK if that sounds better? As for the largely untouched nodes I'll move the few threads there to people of interest or something. They aren't attractive enough to warrant a node.
Separation of post accounts:
I think I'll keep this and make a new account for personal stuff so that if you ONLY want updates for the forum then it will be here. If you wanna follow me for my sunny disposition then I'll post that account soon.
Rules:
We had that issue last week or so and because I work 2 jobs and university and hurricanes love my state things have been delayed. We will iron that out sooner than later. Bottom line is USE COMMON SENSE. Sail at OnionFarms stated on his forum I am more restrictive than them. This is sort of true. If you do something illegal like posting threats it puts me in a bad situation. I have to report that to the police. I have no choice. It also brings a LOT of unwanted attention. If it violates US law then DON'T. The issue I have with porn and gore is IF the gov wanted to mess with me then failure to remove that and allowing it without a credit card age check means they can try to mess with me by treating the forum as a porn site and start charging me and restricting section 230 protections. While I am more restrictive its simply for the site and my protections as best as possible. If other forums want to take the risk then that's their butt on the line. I won't knowingly throw mine there as well. So until the rules are ironed out, and I suspect they will be very much like the above, then consider this a guideline for now.
