A ban wave like you've never seen, maybe

So one of the things I managed to do maybe is set up a system where there are 3 tiers of users getting more power and privilege as they remain active. One of the things I am considering is looking into that automatic system and seeing if there is a way to auto SOFTban people who have joined but have been inactive for.... Maybe 3 months is a good number?

Issue is MOST of the people who join literally never post a damn thing. It annoys me. Like say hi, get involved a little. I imagine lots of people join and go "oh it's not active enough, I'll wait till it's more active and then I'll start posting" but then ofc what I end up with is with 7 active users and like 250 who have never posted a single post. (That's just numbers off my head btw, could be far less)

Idk tho hmu and lmk ur thoughts? Like I don't see how you can ghost for 3 months unless ur just done with the site? Maybe the knowledge of the constant running countdown will keep ppl on their toes. Either or. I don't care about the numbers as much as I care that the number accurately reflects the number of ppl actually doing stuff.

I love the 3 tier user idea a lot. I also always enjoyed being apart of forums that had little things like badges and awards for posting and getting reactions and stuff. Gives people some motivation to stay active.

When Kiwi Farms went down I did notice we were seeing some good user growth here and engagement. I remember posting the forum URL in discord channels and youtube comments letting people know they could come here and shitpost while the farms were down. (got kicked out of the Pod Awful discord for posting the url one too many times lol)

I asked Sargon for advice on what we should do and he suggested having Trump tweet out that Metokur Forums did nothing wrong. In all seriousness maybe having Daddy Jim plug the site would do us some good, I know RPG, Jaden and Cog have shouted us out in the past before. o7

More than anything like what needs to happen is activity which was kinda why I wanted to do the 3 months ban if ppl go inactive for that long. It looks bad when u got a big number and no one is talking. Kinda my fault as well. In super busy so sitting in here drumming up activity is rough time wise.

Let's be serious...if you ban people for three months they simply won't return at all. They'll find someplace else. Members should always feel welcome whenever they come, have full privileges. Doesn't happen at KF; when you come, you come. Been a while, no sweat.

The policy should be one of encouraging people rather than trying to discourage them.

In my case I'm not used to posting on forums so that's why I don't really post that much here (or at all), sorry dude (I also might have forgotten my password lmao). I'll try to make some threads to keep the forums moving tho!

The whole reason for the new rules is due to Doxing bullshit from retards that weren't slapped hard enough and delusional faggots that need to 41% themselves if nothing else than to give the rest of us some entertainment for 15-minutes in the news cycle.
 
I'm trying think of a good way to get people back here, Like mack is a janny, barlos is somewhere, srdf is sucking dick. Lol just mog em Maya tbh.

The idea is to get a pattern for new users so we have some baseline. As it stands the current model is new users and even moderate users need to reply to existing threads before they can make new ones. Basically we've been having people coming in and making new threads and posting huge walls of doxes and porn and ilegal shit. This way we can see how spergy they are. I believe the current numbers set are 30 makes you a active user and allows you to use media and some other stuff, 60 + 2FA makes it so u can make new threads. Not a perfect solution but it keeps the retardation down.
